A Transformation 100 Years in the Making
Trout Lake Golf celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024, and with that, developed a vision to further position the golf course as the iconic golf experience of the Wisconsin Northwoods for generations to come. A master plan was created, and the renovation project, which had been ongoing for the past year, has been completed.
The transformation to the golf course included improvements made to each of the 18 holes. This incorporated several characteristics from the golden age of golf architecture, preserving its classic golf features and embracing historic classic design elements, while also modernizing the course by adding length and enhancing the quality of play for golfers of all levels.
Trout Lake Goes “Back to the Future”
Trout Lake’s transformation has reimagined many elements from the Golden Age of Golf, evoking a sense of nostalgia by going back in time. Creating template greens, opening up approach angles, increasing shot values, and utilizing runoff areas to create multiple options for play around the green complexes, all while incorporating timeless golf design concepts based on strategies from the game’s origins. The resulting renovation highlights the best elements of course design, as if it were created by a golden age architect, making it a great walk in the park, filled with intriguing shots, fun and challenging green complexes, and scenic Northwoods views. Trout Lake utilizes Dynamic Pricing. This buying experience ensures that golfers can look at tee times in real-time and then pick the tee time, price, and date that best suits their needs. Tee times for public play are available for booking up to 14 days in advance online. If there are no tee times available on a particular day, then most likely an outing or tournament has been reserved, but please keep checking as there are times when these events change numbers, dates, or times.
